The blue plaque historical marker reads "C.S. Lewis, scholar and author, lived here 1930-1963." During this time the Narnia books were written. The C.S. Lewis Foundation owns and maintains “The Kilns”. Since 2002 the house has been a Christian Study Centre, as well as being open throughout the year for tours.
