Kleivås Kommandoplass

Bodø, Norge

Former command center of the Norwegian Civil Defence built in a mountain bunker. Created between 1958 and 1968 as a public shelter for emergencies, offering protection against Atomic/Biological/Chemical-weaponry due to the Cold War threat. The facility covers 1635m² and has undergone 2 upgrades; first a big one in 1996-1997 and a smaller second one in 2009. In later years it's mostly been used as storage facility for the Norwegian Civil Defence, and in 2016 it's been sold to function as a more generic storage facility.
