American Legion - Post 447

This is the George John's Post, chartered in 1933. George John was born in 1896, graduated in 1913 from Round Rock High School and volunteered to serve his country in 1917. He served in the 132nd Machine Gun Battalion of the 36th Division of the Texas National Guard. He was killed in action fighting alongside the French near St. Etienne in October of 1918.
