Anna with the Child

In a graveyard at Herøy farm is a great metal cross with inscription "Anna with the child." According to legend, Anna Margrethe Irgens Holst's died in childbirth when she was expecting her eighth child. After the funeral someone reported hearing sounds as he went past the graveyard. The grave was opened, and it was found that Anna had a child born in the grave, but that they both were now dead. Someone says also that there were scratch marks on the underside of the lid of the coffin, as if Anna had tried to claw her way out.
