In 1848 the Cape Cod branch railroad laidthe first tracks of Cape Cod linking Middleboro to sandwich line with extended to Wellfleet in 1870 and finally the Province town in 1873 then in 1976 after being purchased by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts it was turned into a bike path.
