The South Bridge (Südbrücke) is a bridge crossing the Rhein that forms part of the Cologne freight bypass railway. It was designed by Franz Schwechten (designer of the Hohenzoller bridge) Construction started on 8 November 1906 and completed in 1910. It was destroyed during an air raid on 6 January 1945, rebuilt and reopened on 1 October 1950.
