Prosaurolophus

Drumheller, Canada

One of Alberta's largest hadrosaurs, Prosaurolophus had a small, solid crest on its head. Prosaurolophus most likely cropped tough vegetation with a broad beak. Like other hadrosaurs, it had a hoof on each toe, while three of his fingers were joined in a second, mitten like pad. These adaptations indicated it was able to walk on either 2 or four legs. Here, it is feeding on a Cretaceous conifer, an extinct relative of the modern Dawn Redwood.
