The Old Jam Factory
Adelaide, Australia
Built in 1911 the Jam Factory was built with large underground cellars where fruit could be processed and packaged for export. In 1973 under threat of demolition a proposal was developed for the creation of a new arts and craft cooperative. The Jam Factory led the way in Australia for the production of ceramics, glass work, pottery, clay, leather, textiles, furniture and metal work. In 2011 the building was redeveloped as a apartment building.
