Turret of the Historic Wall of the Washington Navy Yard

The last distinguishing feature of the old walls of the nation's first Navy Yard, founded in 1803. The Navy withdrew from the section in 2005, but the Turret was entered onto the National Registry of Historic Places. The Turret and the adjacent sections of wall have been incorporated into the mixed use building nearby, blending old and new.
