INSTINCT
Guilty of Innocence
Fort Worth, United States
US veteran Tim Cole was convicted of a murder he did not commit. After dying in prison at the age of 39, a convict confessed to the crime. In 2009 a court of inquiry was used to obtain a hearing on his innocence. He was exhonerated posthumously, and later that year the state of Texas enacted the Tim Cole Act to compensate wrongly convicted individuals. From prison, Cole wrote "I still believe in the justice system, even though it didn't believe in me".
