La Porte de Hal - Hallepoort

The gate leading from Brussels to Halle is one of the only fragments left of the wall that once encircled Brussels. While the rest of the wall was ripped down to build the ring road, the gatehouse was kept and converted to a prison. Today it houses a museum dedicated to mediaeval Brussels.
