The Eaton Hotel
Wichita, United States

The Eaton Hotel, built in 1887 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, is the cornerstone of the Eaton Place project. This endeavor saved both the original hotel and the remainder of the historic 500 block of East Douglas. Without this project Wichita would have forfeited the only remaining contiguous historic block of its original downtown buildings and lost an irreplaceable part of its history.

The success of this project is due to the strategic partnership formed among the organizations listed
[organizations not transcribed]

Eaton Place
April 28, 2001
—————
The Eaton Hotel
Built 1886 - 1887
has been placed on the
National Register of Historic Places
by the National Park Service,
United States Department of the Interior
April 1972

This building is recognized for its
architectural and historical significance
to the United States of America
