G.B. Greene Anchor
Ottawa, Canada
This anchor from the double-decker riverboat G. B. Greene was dedicated to Britannia Park on August 27, 1999 by His Worship Mayor Jim Watson, Councillor Ron Kolbus and Members of Council of the City of Ottawa. The anchor was donated by Britannia resident Mr. Bill White. Built in 1896 in Quyon, Quebec, the G. B. Greene was used for "moonlight excursions" and hauling of supplies until she caught fire in July 1916.
