The corner shop with residences above was built for shopkeeper E.Kelsey in 1884. The shop served the local population of upper North Adelaide, an area that underwent substantial development in the 1880s. While the original verandah has been removed the chamfered corner entrance is typical of commercial buildings of the mid Victorian period. (City of Adelaide)
