Airplane Mural
El Segundo, United States
Several airplane manufacturers located in El Segundo during the 1930's and 40's because of its proximity to Mines Field, an airstrip built for the national air races of 1928. In 1946, the city of Los Angeles assumed control of Mines Field and later developed Los Angeles International Airport. Hanger No. 1, built in 1929, is the only remaining original building.
