Old St Chad's

This is believe to be the historic site of Pengwern, the court of the Prince of Powys in the 7th century. In 1148 a large church was built here. All that remains of Old St Chad's is the Lady Chapel, which survived a collapse in 1788. St Chad's near the Quarry was built as a replacement shortly after.
