Donald L. Houston, D.V.M. 1934-1988

Dr. Donald L. Houston served the federal meat and poultry inspection program for 26 years as a veterinary medical officer and innovative program manager. from 1979 to 1987 as administrator of U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Inspection, he introduce inspection system incorporate in modern science and technology. Always, he stressed the needs to quip employees with the managerial and technical expertise to meet the demands of the future. His contribution strengthen public health protection in the United States and serve as a model for all employees of inspection service.
