Bleu Bridge Inscribed Stone
Penzance, United Kingdom
This early christian inscribed stone was once used as a footbridge over Ponsandane brook. The inscription reads: "QVENATAVCI IC DINVI FILIVS", translated as "Quenataucus (lies) here, son of Dinuus". It has been dated to the 6th Century CE, shortly after the Roman presence here, and is believed to be an ancient grave marker. The more recent plaque nearby was placed by the Penzance Old Cornwall Society in 1986 to better preserve the site.
