The massacre of Cherry Valley and other frontier point in 1778 led to the expedition of General John Sullivan. From this point On June 18th, 1779, marched the 6th Massachusetts regiment to join the forces of General James Clinton assembling at Otsego Lake. Erected by the State of New York 1920.
