Nevada County Narrow Gauge Rail Road

This is the location of the Nevada City depot for the local narrow gauge railway that covered Nevada County from Colfax to Grass Valley. It carried lumber, gold, food, livestock and school kids from 1876 until finally being scrapped in 1942. There is a small circuit of tracks near this spot that runs occasionally.
