Tiritiri Matangi Lighthouse

Constructed in 1864, the light was first lit 1 January 1865. The lighthouse was fully automated in 1984. The lighthouse itself, like most automated lighthouses, is not open to the public, but is easily accessed when at the island's visitor centre nearby. It has a Category 1 listing with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.
