Trinity Bridge
Peterborough, United Kingdom
Originally of wooden construction the bridge was first mentioned in a charter of King Edred in 943 AD. The present bridge dates from the 14th century built between 1360-1390 and is constructed in ancient limestone. The seated figure is thought to be that of Christ or King Ethelbald and is possibly from the West front of the abbey. Built at a point where the Welland divided, it was the means of crossing at the junction of the streams.
