Norge Train Depot
Williamsburg, United States
The Norge Depot was built sometime between 1906 and 1908 by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Company. This building is the only surviving example in James City County of the company's trend towards standardized designs for the mass production of depots. Originally located adjacent to the railroad tracks at the end of peach Street in Norge, the depot was moved to its current location in 2006 when faced with demolition. Despite the relocation, the majority of the building remains intact and has been rehabilitated to as close to its original external appearance as possible giving existing historical records.
