The Washington Theatre was built in 1926 and opened by Lions Theatre Circuit. It was closed in 1997 after business slowed but was purchased by Galaxy Theatres in 1998 and renovated. It was reopened shortly in 2001 and for the last time in 2006 and has remained open since.
