Tobacco Farmers Unite

Farmers throughout Western Kentucky and Northern Tennessee gathered in Guthrie on September 24th 1904 in response to the tobacco growers economic hardship. 5000 farmers participated in the formation of a cooperative to pool thier crops in opposition to price fixing actions by James Duke and the American Tobacco Company. Two more Guthrie rallies in 1905-1906.
