During engagements from Nov 3, 1919 to Nov 11, 1919, Riga 6th Infantry regiment has lost 3 officers and 38 soldiers (and almost 300 wounded) while defending this height from the forces of Bermondt-Avalov. The 6th regiment was victorious in these battles, thereby deciding the outcome of the battle for Riga. Names of the fallen officers and soldiers are engraved on this plaque.
