This pagoda was contructed by craftsmen from Japan, and is entirely constructed withoit nails or screws. Intricate dovetails, mortise and tenon and doweled joints keep this structure together. The pagoda serves as the Jodo Mission's mausoleum, the final resting place of devout members of the Lahaina Jodo Mission.
