Carved Monument Veranda

This is a replica of the Veranda from Shen Jiang's Bei Gu Mountain. It is claimed that when Emperor Liu Bei of the Dong Han Dynasty climbed to the top of the mountain and gazed upon the river, he was so awe struck that he claimed it the "Number One Scenery in the World." Emperor Liang Wu of the Nan Dynasty also visited the mountain around 516-530AD and was inspired and impressed with the view. He declared it the "Number One Mountain and Water View on Earth." The current carving, "The Number One Mountain and River View on Earth," on the Veranda was written by Wu Ju during the Song Dynasty and carved during the Qing Dynasty
