The Airship Mast

American engineer Lincoln Elsworth, the Italian general, pilot, polar explorer and airship constructor Umberto Nobile and the Norwegian polar explorer Road Amundsen together hatched the idea of how to conquer the North Pole by airship. This mast was erected in 1926 and was the northernmost mooring for the airship on the mainland.
