Named after Mary Josephine Booth, the University librarian in 1904 who lobbied for a free standing campus library building for many years. The library was constructed in 1950 and annexed in 1968. In 2002, the library was rennovated to increase the total available space to 165,000 square feet and shelving capacity to 1,500,000 volumes.
