Dr Henry Woodward 1646 to 1687. Henry Woodward played a vital role in the success of Charlestown he spoke several Indian languages, had lived with a Carolina tried for almost 2 years and often acted as an ambassador for the colonists among the Native Americans. Without doctor with words language and diplomatic skills the fledgling colony of Carolina might not have survived.
