Old Fog Horn

Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom

Constructed in 1902 , the Torry Coo was a fog horn that used an oil-driven compressor. It was last sounded in the 1980s. It lies close to the site of the wreck of the Oscar, which ran aground in 1813 with the loss of 42 lives and for which the nearby Stevenson lighthouse was erected in 1833.
