Little Mountain Indian Mound
Mount Sterling, United States
This was the location of the Kentucky Historical Society marker 2290. The marker is now missing, but this was the site of the massive little mountain Indian Mound, from which Mt. Sterling derived its name. Constructed by the Adena Indian culture about 2,000 years ago, the circular mound stood 25 feet in height and 125 feet in diameter and was located along the Warriors trace.
