Louis Mariani Peace Garden

In 2006, the city of Syracuse dedicated the garden, the fifth dedicated garden in the city of Syracuse and first dedicated to a teenager, Louis Mariani. Sunnycrest Park Association has been working with Syracuse Parks Department to help create and maintain this beautiful garden. The sculptural centerpiece of the garden was created by Ron DeRutte of Syracuse University. The garden is a combination of native plants and trees. Its borders possess red oaks, conifers, and cherry trees. The garden is the last stopping place for the Urban Environmental Trail that runs through Sunnycrest Park.
