13 Colonies Painted Hydrant

In 1976, to celebrate the city’s 50th anniversary and the United States Bicentennial, Belmont organized a contest where city residents painted fire hydrants. This is entry #447, named “13 Colonies”, painted by Craig Webber, and sponsored by Gail Mintz. Although the original colonies painting is damaged, the red and white strips and the Liberty and Loyalty slogans remains intact.
