The Freizeitpark Marienfelde was build on a greened waste deposal site. The deposal was used from 1950 to 1981 to depose the waste of some Berlin districts after WW II. From 1979 to 2001, a green park was build on top of the deposal site. The only problem was that the waste was building methan gas. Therefore the dumpgas station was build to burn that methan gas.
