No one knows exactly why it is here, what we do know is that has been sitting here for years. Kept up, nice, and looks like a watermelon. Some say that the spirit of the Watermelon King lives here and only comes out during certain times of year. Other say it used to be an old ice cream stand. All I know as I see it everyday, as do many others, as I'm driving down Falls of Neuse Road.
