Memorial to the passengers who died on 19 August 1998 in Foveaux Strait following the ditching of a Southern Air scheduled flight from Stewart Island to Invercargill. The aircraft was ditched approximately 1.75 miles from the Bluff coast. Five passengers were rescued after spending one and a quarter hours in the sea.
