Emory Lawrence Bennett Memorial Statue

Born December 1929,died June 1951. Posthumously awarded medal of honor by President Harry Truman in Dec 1951. Bennett fought in Korea, where he gallantly left his foxhole to fend off two advancing enemy battalions. Bennet voluntarily remained behind following orders to fall back to provide covering fire enabling orderly withdrawal of friendly forces.
