Beach Cities Masonic Lodge #753 was established in 1955 by local members of the Freemasons brotherhood to serve the Southbay Beach Cities area. The guests for the inaugural dinner included the well known Mason "Colonel" Harlan Sanders, visiting to expand KFC's early franchising in California.
