Historic Stringham Birch Home 1890

This Victorian Eclectic-style house built in 1890 has been maintained as one of the most attractive older homes in Bountiful. Five Doric columns support the spacious wrap around porch. Richard and Elizabeth Stringham built the home with elegant features such as large windows with leaded, beveled-glass transoms; extended masonry eyebrows over the windows; pent corners with gingerbread trim complete with pendant; and a palladian window in the pediment. Each time the Stringhams had a baby, they added a room onto the house. They had 15 children, but the house ended up with 27 rooms! The sun porch was added in the 1920's.
