Tak Fudenna Stadium

After the 1989 Loma Prieta quake, many of the buildings and facilities at Washington High School required rebuilding and remodeling. The old War Memorial Stadium was scheduled to be replaced by a new sports stadium. Construction began in the summer of 1972. It was later remodeled in 2005. It was dedicated as the Tak Fudenna Memorial Stadium in honor of 1939 graduate Takeo Fudenna, who had given much to the community and had passed away the previous August in an accident.
