Latrobe Columns

These iconic columns of Italian Marble are eight of the original twelve that embraced the central rotunda of the Baltimore Exchange, an imposing classical edifice completed in 1820 to the design of Benjamin Henry Latrobe with Maximilian Godefroy. Latrobe is noted for his work on the U.S. Capitol, White House and the Basilica of the Assumption in Baltimore.
