Frantisek Krizik (1847-1941) was the fampus Czech inventor. He patented automatic electric arc lamp. His company built tramway lines, cars for them, power stations and other electric equipment. He built first electric railway in Austr-Hungarian empire. Similarly to Tomas Edison he believed in direct current electricity but he lost most of his money after Emil Kolben took over with Alternating current. In Prague metro station Krizkova is named after him and his extraordinary enlightened water fountain is still working in Holesovice Expo area in Prague.
