These kilns dedicated to Grafton's industrial activity of 19th and early 20th century. Milwaukee Falls Lime Company incorporated in 1890. Quicklime was made. Used in tanning hides and construction. Shipments down the Wisconsin Central Railway destined for Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, and St. Louis. 5 to 6 train car loads per day were shipped until operations stopped in 1920's.
