Biru

(1997) second casting bronze by Joop Hekman. The original is part of "De familie" in Enschede. The artists dog Biru stood model for sculpture. As the dog was a familiar site on the Servaasbrug, where it often used to nap, the neighborhood worked to have this sculpture placed on the dog's favourite spot, in celebration of the artist's 75th birthday and in remembrance of the beloved dog.
