This carved sculpture depicts Prince Rupert nephew of King Charles I taking refuge from parliamentary forces in the old well at Wollescote Hall following the Battle of Stourbridge in 1643 during the English Civil War. Carved by Graham Jones from a single piece of sweet chestnut.
