Les Rogers Memorial Sanctuary

An out of the way parklands north of surfers paradise, on Macintosh's Is. filled with peacocks, ducks, kookaburras and all other manner of wildlife. A man made stream feeds into a small lake, containing a island bird sanctuary, protected from predators and curious humans. The surrounding area is grassland and semi dense trees, creating shade and a cool retreat from the hustle and bustle of gold coast metropolis. Several benches, footpaths, water fountains, play equipment and public amenities make it an enjoyable place to escape the heat and have a picnic with friends and family.
