Sighthill Stone Circle

The Sighthill Stone Circle is the first astronomically-aligned stone circle built in Britain for 3,000 years. The brainchild of Scottish science and science-fiction author Duncan Lunan, the circle was erected between 1978 and 1979.   Sadly, the Conservative government elected in 1979 curtailed the project before it could be completed, though a fresh campaign has recently been established to try and get the work finished.
